Words of Wisdom from my Papaw

This is something that was in my grandfather's funeral program that he wrote. I thought that I would share it because it is very insightful. He only had a sixth grade education but was definitely equipped with a PH.D. in the school of life. I will miss him greatly, but I am proud to say that he was my grandfather. I will write more about him and the funeral later and also my last 3 plus years and everything that has happened. I included a picture of all of my Papaw's grandsons. I am the oldest of all the grandchildren. THE TEN THINGS A MAN CAN BE by Hebert Lindley 1. He should be a good servant to God - Matthew 22:37-39 Because God loved us first, He should be first. My Grandfather's Obituary

Tipton - HERBERT HOOVER LINDLEY, 77, a former resident of Memphis, TN, died at his home on January 16, 2007. A member of Anchor Baptist Church, he loved the Lord and never met a stranger without finding some way to share his faith and encourage them in some way. He was born in Crawfordsville, AR on May 21, 1929. He grew up a sharecropper's son and learned early the value of hard work. In 1950, he began running a laundry route for Loeb's Laundry, which he continued after moving to Memphis in the early 1950's. His employment and relationship with Loeb's would endure for over forty years until his retirement in 1991. His roots as a farmer's son never died, and he knew he wanted to retire in the country. In 1980, he purchased an old farmstead in Tipton County with his wife, Kathy, which, after a little historical research, he named "Maple Hill Farm". He...

More Bad News.....

My mom just called and said that my Papaw has passed away. I now only have one grandparent left, but none that are blood relation. My mom's mom died when she was 9. Also, I still do not have a job. Please pray for me and my family. It looks like this year is starting out to be like last year. More as I find out about funeral arrangements.
