Interview Follow-up

I had my interview at 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, maybe I should say interviews. Man, I hate the whole process of looking for a job and then talking about yourself. I have never been very good at it. Let me give a brief synopsis of what happened.....

I arrived about 30 minutes early because I had no idea of how long it would take to get to the place, even though I had a map from Mapquest. Mid-American Specialties is located near Germantown and Southwind golf course and I am near the river, so it is a long drive. It is mostly interstate so that it good. After filling out my application, I was introduced to one of the sales managers named Tim. He took me out and let me listen to one of the sales peeps taking calls. That was no big deal. The place looked cool and had a bunch of younger people and was casual. So far , so good. Several minutes later he came to get me and took me to where the less experienced people were doing the same thing. A few more minutes and then I had my interview with him.

I think it went well. I graduated with his sister at Bolton, so that should be worth something right? Man, Memphis is the smallest big city in the world I believe. Anyway, after answering the what type of tree are you questions, I was ushered to a second interview with the Vice President of Sales. After 10 to 15 minutes with her it was to a 3rd interview with the Human Resources lady that originally called me. In my experiences three interviews is a good thing. I am supposed to call tomorrow afternoon to see if I have it.

It is a sales position, something I have never done. The hours are 8:00 to 3:40, so that is a definite plus. I could go back to school and take night classes. Also, I would be able to work out in the afternoons. Also, the pay would be great once I got started. It is not so good to start(8.00 an hour plus commission) but goes up to very good as you progress up the ladder. Well, that is all I will say. I do not want to jinx myself. More tomorrow one way or another.......
