Movies, Movies, Movies - Part 1!!!!!


Well, during this last couple of weeks, I have seen a bunch of movies. Some on DVD and some at the theater. Without further adieu, let me share my opinion with you on all of them - the good and the bad!!!!

I will begin with "Shaun of the Dead" a hilarious movie that is a British romantic comedy with a twist - it is also a zombie movie. I had caught bits and pieces of it before but had never seen the entire movie. It was great!!! Very funny!!! I like british humor so I figured that I would like it. I recommend it to anyone.

The next movie that I got the chance to see was "Inside Man" starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen. This movie was excellent and kept you guessing up until the very end. I am a big fan of the psychological thriller genre of film and this movie was no exception. I thought that Jodie Foster's performance was less than stellar but it was not enough to dampen the rest of the movie. If you get a chance to see it, do.

Next on our list of cinematic delights is "RV" starring Robin Williams. I was hesitant to see this after I heard that it was not good but I was surprised. It was very funny and also did not have a single cuss word that I cannot remember. A great family film that reminded me of some of our family vacations. I laughed out loud quite a bit while watching this. I definitely recommend that you see it.

Finally, we come to "Superman Returns" the much ballyhooed return to this franchise. I thought that this movie was horrible!!! Brandon Routh has less charisma than Christopher Reeve's corpse and can we quit beating the Lex Luthor horse to death? There are many other foes that I would like to see Superman battle like Bizarro Superman and the enigmatic Mr. Myzplytyk. I must say that "Batman Begins" is way better than this and I look forward to the sequel of that movie, although I do not know how well Heath Ledger will play the Joker. I am sure that many will disagree with my opinion on this movie, and that is cool.

Well, that is enough film for now.

Life comes full circle for me.....

Today I attended the church that I grew up in, for the first time in about 15 years or so I guess. My grandmother asked us to go with her, so how could I refuse. It had not changed one bit since the way that I remembered it. It is the second week in a row that I have gone to church. That is definitely a good thing. Back to work tomorrow, I get a raise on Tuesday. I will finally have a little extra money when I get my next check on the 19th. It is so nice to have a steady stream of income again. I am planning on selling some more eBay stuff, so that will help out with the savings plan. Wayne Gretzky was just named the new coach of the Phoenix Coyotes, so that means I will have to go to see another game in Nashville since I have never met The Great One. The Predators just signed Paul Kariya, so that is another reason to check out some hockey. Well, I think that is all that I can think of at the moment. Until next time.....
